WATCH: Mind boggling speed of F1 cars through Eau Rouge
The Belgian Grand Prix is one of the most awaited races of the season, primarily because of the famous ‘Eau Rouge’ corner, one that allows cars to zip through a slope.
The speed of the cars through Eau Rouge is a sight to behold and gives so much satisfaction to F1 fans all around the world.
F1 cars can take up to 300km/hr through Eau Rouge due to high downforce, one of the highest speeds recorded in motorsport.
Now, reading 300km/hr and actually witnessing it are two separate things and this video of cars zipping through Eau Rouge really makes one understand how fast it actually is.

Curb cam of cars going through Eau Rouge and Raidillion.
Unreal angle. I could watch this all day.

While it may initially seem that the video is ‘speed up’, but it actually is not. The helicopter flying above tells you that the video is in normal speed and it is the F1 cars that go to an insane speed through Eau Rouge. Aerial shots are the best way to gauge the insane speeds that F1 cars can go at.
Another video which compares an open track day to a F1 race shows just how quick F1 cars are. While watching races one may get accustomed to those high F1 car speeds but one needs to compare speeds of F1 cars to that of different cars to just kind of get more perspective into how fast actually these machines are.
