Uncertainty over Zimbabwe’s tour of India
Uncertainty over Zimbabwe’s tour of India: The recent scheduling has put Zimbabwe’s tour of India in serious doubts.
The recent development regarding the 12th season of the Indian Premier League commencing from March 23 and the whole of it being played in India might have come as a relishing news for all the stakeholders of the tournament but it didn’t particularly please one entity in Zimbabwe Cricket.
There were reports of Zimbabwe touring India for the first time after 17 years in March. Having said that, the current schedule has put that bilateral tour under clouds.

India’s tour of New Zealand will culminate on February 10. It will be followed by Australia visiting India for two T20Is and five ODIs (starting on February 24), the last one of which will be played on March 13.
The current scheduling effectively leaves 10 days between the Australia series and the IPL. While conducting one Test match and three ODIs in the same period seems impossible, whether the series will be postponed or entirely cancelled will be interesting to see.

As per ESPNcricinfo, Zimbabwe Cricket managing director Givemore Makoni will meet with his counterparts at the BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India) this week to discuss the tour.
Zimbabwe would be hoping for the BCCI to postpone the tour, perhaps conduct it somewhere around September. They have toured India for multi-team events in the recent times and would be wanting to play a bilateral series now.
