Jason Roy grabs a stunner in Bangladesh Premier League: The English opening batsman put on display a brilliant fielding effort.
During the 40th match of the ongoing Bangladesh Premier League between Sylhet Sixers and Chittagong Vikings at Dhaka, Sixers top-order batsman Jason Roy was successful in grabbing a one-handed stunner at deep midwicket to dismiss Vikings top-order batsman Yasir Ali.
It all happened on the fourth delivery of the eight over when Ali’s attempt to pull a rank short delivery from Alok Kapali saw him unfortunately getting out. Just as Ali hit the ball, Roy ran to his left to time his jump to perfection as he caught the ball whilst in the air.
Jason Roy should field in a cape. #rascalcricket

While there was nothing wrong in the batsman’s intention of belting the poor delivery for a maximum, better timing on the same would have yielded the optimum result for him. Coming in to bat at No. 3 in the first over itself, Ali ended up scoring 27 (27) with the help two fours and a six.
With bowling figures of 4-0-17-4, ‘Man of the Match’ Ebadot Hossain was the pick of the bowlers for Sixers, playing an instrumental role in dismissing Vikings on 136 in 18.3 overs. Vikings captain Mushfiqur Rahim remained their highest run-scorer as he scored 48 (32) with the help of three fours and three sixes.

After Rahim put Sixers in to bat, they scored 165-5 in 20 overs on the back of opening batsman Andre Fletcher’s 25th T20 half-century, 66 (53), with the help of six fours and two sixes. With bowling figures of 4-0-29-4, Hardus viljoen was the pick of the bowlers for Vikings.
Talking of Roy, he scored 11 (10) with the help of two fours after coming in to bat at No. 3. In the four matches which Roy has played for Sixers this season, he has scored 67 runs at a paltry average of 16.75. Watch the full video below:
