WATCH: Rohit Sharma gets angry after getting out to Pat Cummins in 3rd ODI
Rohit Sharma gets angry: The Indian vice-captain was seen expressing his anger after being given out off Pat Cummins.
During the third ODI of the ongoing Australia’s tour of India at Ranchi, India vice-captain and opening batsman Rohit Sharma didn’t seem too pleased after getting out cheaply for the third time in the series.
Opening the batting with Shikhar Dhawan (1), Sharma was the second Indian batsmen to walk back to the pavilion. It all happened on the third ball of the fifth over when Australia fast bowler Pat Cummins deceived Sharma with lack of bounce off the pitch.
With the bat hitting Sharma’s front pad and bat at almost the same time, there was an initial perception that he had played the ball. Perhaps, it was the same perception which inspired on-field umpire C. Shamshuddin to rule the decision in Sharma’s favour.

It was at this point in time that Australia captain Aaron Finch opted for the review. The replay highlighted the conundrum regarding whether the ball had hit the bat first or the pad first. In what was a really close call, it witnessed the umpire changing his decision.
Several replays had all but confirmed that the ball had initially hit Sharma’s front pad and then the inside part of his bat. The decision wasn’t received well by the batsman as he was seen expressing his disappointment and anger as he walked back to the dressing room. Sharma was then seen gesturing angrily from the dressing room as well.
Before getting out, Sharma ended up scoring 14 (14) with the help of two fours and a six. Having scored 37 and 0 in the first two matches, this has been Sharma’s third consecutive departure without contributing much.
