McLaren Coca-Cola deal: McLaren announce 2019 sponsorship partnership with Coca-Cola after a successful pilot in 2018
McLaren had itself a big Saturday on and off the track. On track rookie Lando Norris, in his first ever race weekend put in perfect performances through all three qualifying sessions and drove the car to an 8th place finish in a surprising appearance in the Q3. His team mate Carlos Sainz finished in a disappointing 18th ahead of only the 2 Williams which should not even be counted at this point.
Off the track McLaren announced a year long partnership with Coca-Cola after a successful stint in 2018 (albeit only in 4 races as a testing of sorts). Last season was the first time the Coca-Cola brand was seen on track at an F1 event and this year we will get a better look with a season long partnership between the two.
Coca-Cola has multiple brands under its wings and McLaren will display multiple of those brands through the season. Coca-Cola, which ranks in the top-10 in the world on brand visibility and popularity index, will find a new way of increasing their visibility further.
Coca-Cola have been known for their fantastic activation ideas will look to engage F1 fans throughout the season with consumer activities at the points of sale, online promotions and communication.

Zak Brown, Chief Executive Officer of McLaren Racing said, “I’m proud that Coca-Cola, one of the most recognized consumer brands and supporters of sports fans around the world, has chosen to extend it’s partnership with out Formula 1 team. There was a positive action to out 2018 debut as partners on the Formula 1 track and Im looking forward to us exploring the full potential of this partnership over the coming season.”
Ricardo Fort, Vice President, Sports and Entertainment Partnerships, Coca-Cola, said, “We are excited to extend and expand out relationship with McLaren for the 2019 racing season. Sponsoring McLaren will allow us o to create unique consumer experiences around the world.”
This could lead to further investment in the future from other brands that compete with Coca-Cola as any new avenue for marketing generally spike up the competition between such beverage brands.
Coca-Cola has in the past worked with sports brands across various sports, the big ones being NCAA, NASCAR, NBA and the Olympics!
