Indian Youngster Making Inroads into NBA’s D League !

The winner of the India’s first national basketball talent search, Palpreet Singh has signed his first NBA Development League contract. This makes him eligible for the draft that will take place in October. (Indian Youngster Making Inroads into NBA’s D League )
Palpreet has been training with the New York Athletic Club in Manhattan for the past few months and is elated at taking a significant step towards fulfilling his life long dream of playing in the NBA.
His coach Ross Burn is confident that Palpreet, who has has been working very hard in Manhattan, will get picked by a D Team in the draft in a few weeks time. (Indian Youngster Making Inroads into NBA’s D League )
NBA champion Brian Shaw was impressed by Palpreet’s performance in the national finals of ACG NBA Jump held in the last week of February. His speed and vision were on show as he put in a memorable performance and won the hearts of the watching crowd.
Palpreet also impressed during the national tryouts held in New York in mid August. Over 200 pro basketball hopefuls exhibited their talent in front of NBA D-League player personnel executives , coaches and industry scouts. (Indian Youngster Making Inroads into NBA’s D League )
“The competition is tough but it is great to know you are competing with the best to play in the best league in the world.”, said a confident Palpreet after the national tryouts. Despite having to test himself against the best basketball talents in the world, Palpreet Singh is confident that he will make the cut in to the big leagues.
The rise of Palpreet Singh is proof that the popularity of Basketball in India is growing at very fast pace. He is one of the many in the country who is pursuing their dream of playing in the NBA.
With Paplreet now entering the D-League, he will be expected to be the flag bearer for India with regards to basketball in the country. And he is just the first !
