DC vs SRH Playing 11: DC Predicted Playing 11 vs SRH | IPL 2019
DC Predicted Playing 11 vs SRH: The Sportsrush presents before you DC’s Predicted Playing 11 for their fifth match of IPL 2019.
The Delhi Capitals, after a good start, have suddenly started discovering ways to choke themselves. After managing to somehow win the Super Over against KKR, DC gifted their points to KXIP in the previous match by throwing away a great start.
The top 5 of the team look settled and are some of the best players in the League. Their bowling attack also looks sorted. However, DC will need to work out their finishing woes if they do not want to have yet another disappointing season. Ricky Ponting and Sourav Ganguly need to address the matter quickly as it can lead to many embarrassing defeats.
DC Predicted Playing 11 vs SRH
Top-order
The Capitals have one of the strongest top 3 consisting of the dependable Shikhar Dhawan, talented Prithvi Shaw and skipper Shreyas Iyer. They would not even dream about changing their top 3 in the near future barring injuries.
While Dhawan holds the fort, Prithvi plays his shots.
Iyer has also proven to be a dependable batsman many times in the past. All these 3 batsmen have scored over 100 runs each and are among the top 20 run-getters thus far.
Middle-order
Rishabh Pant, the 4 th highest run-getter in IPL 2019, has been having a great season with the bat playing swashbuckling and unbelievable shots all around the ground. Colin Ingram, in his limited opportunities with the bat, has made quite an impact. He has thrown away his wicket at crucial junctures in the last 2 matches which he would like to change. These 2 batsmen would continue playing at No. 4 and 5.
The No. 6 slot raises some questions with Hanuma Vihari not impressing at all in the matches he played. It is here that the DC have a lot of headache.
Their best option is to bring back Axar Patel into the team if he is fit. Chris Morris and Axar would have to play the role of finishers. Although the finishing batsmen still look weak after the change, this is the best that DC have.
Bowlers
The DC bowlers have performed well in most of the matches but they need to bowl out of their skin against a strong SRH if they want to have any chance of winning this match. SRH openers Warner and Bairstow have had 3 consecutive century partnerships and Rabada and Co. would want to break the streak. Harshal Patel and Kagiso Rabada would join Chris Morris to complete a potent pace bowling attack.
However, on a pitch like the Kotla, spin would once again play a significant role. DC have the young Nepal bowler, Sandeep Lamichhane who has been spectacular around the world and would play a significant role in the encounter.
Amit Mishra is expected to come back into the team replacing Avesh Khan owing to the nature of the pitch. Axar Patel, if playing, can also contribute to the attack.
DC Predicted Playing 11 vs SRH – 1) Shikhar Dhawan 2) Prithvi Shaw 3) Shreyas Iyer (c) 4) Rishabh Pant (wk)
5) Colin Ingram 6) Axar Patel 7) Chris Morris 8) Harshal Patel 9) Kagiso Rabada 10) Amit Mishra 11) Sandeep Lamichhane
