Fernando Alonso’s reaction on Charles Leclerc losing the lead at the Bahrain GP- Watch as the F1 legend feels sorry for the Ferrari rookie.
Charles Leclerc suffered a heartbreaking moment at the Bahrain GP, when his engine gave up on him whilst he was looking set to secure his first ever race win.
The young Ferrari driver had done everything right that weekend, having won all the sessions, including qualifying on Saturday. While he did lose out on P1 after turn 1 on raceday, he managed to get back his position when he overtook Vettel during the race.
Sebastian Vettel’s error during the battle with Lewis Hamilton handed P2 to the former, who then passed Charles Leclerc without much discomfort, as the Ferrari man had engine issues.
Leclerc was visibly distraught after the race, but was positive about the future and knew that a lot of opportunities to win a GP would come along. He received support from the entire F1 fraternity, as everyone believed that Leclerc deserved to win following such a strong weekend.
Fernando Alonso, who was also present at the Bahrain GP, as he was getting ready for Bahrain testing with McLaren, also showcased his disappointment when Leclerc lost out on the lead.

Ferrari had a terrible time during raceday at Bahrain, and they would be hoping that things could take a favourable turn when they take the track in China a week from now.
Sebastian Vettel will need to ensure that he irons out all mistakes, especially when he is put under the pump during a race. Charles Leclerc on the other hand would be hoping to replicate what he did all through the weekend in Bahrain, except what transpired on raceday.
Mercedes on the other hand would want to figure out what went wrong during the weekend in Bahrain, as they lost out on their pace advantage.
