RCB vs KKR Man of the Match: Who was awarded Man of the Match in RCB vs KKR?
RCB vs KKR Man of the Match: Kolkata Knight Riders all-rounder was declared the Man of the Match for his unbelievable innings.
During the 17th match of the ongoing 12th season of the Indian Premier League between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Kolkata Knight Riders at Bengaluru, Kolkata Knight Riders defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore by 5 wickets to register their third IPL 2019 victory.
Chasing a colossal 206-run target, Knight Riders were in the chase for the first 10 overs of their innings. However, wickets at regular intervals had put them on the backseat.
However, it was a near-impossible innings from all-rounder Andre Russell which made sure that KKR reaches the second position in the points table. Russell’s efforts also ensured that Royal Challengers remain undefeated in the tournament.

Needing 53 runs in the last three overs, Russell finishing the innings with five balls to spare speaks highly about the level of domination. The West Indian ended up scoring 48* (13) with the help of one four and seven monumental sixes to seal the chase.
Speaking during the post-match presentation ceremony, Man of the Match Andre Russell unveiled that he remains confident in such situations and opened up on what captain Dinesh Karthik told him when he came out to bat.
“I am always confident. When I went out, DK was saying we need to watch a few balls. I was watching on the telly, and I wasn’t thinking too much. We needed to get 68 from 28 balls, and that doesn’t happen everyday.
“We just had to put our bodies on the line. That’s the nature of T20 cricket. One over changes and the momentum changes. That’s why I never give up. Once I am there, I know anything’s possible,” Russell was quoted as saying.
“It’s hand-eye coordination”
Being asked about hitting several low full-tosses out of the park, Russell highlighted his hand-eye coordination. Laying emphasis on finding words to explain it, Russell put it down to showing it out during live matches.
“It’s just hand-eye coordination. Low full tosses aren’t easy to hit, and I just do short-hand jabs, because you cannot extend your arms. I cannot explain it, I can only show it in the middle [laughs],” Russell said.
