Faf du Plessis boundary effort vs DC: Chennai Super Kings opening batsman put on display an exceptional fielding effort vs DC.

During the Qualifier 2 of the ongoing 12th season of the Indian Premier League between Chennai Super Kings and Delhi Capitals at Visakhapatnam, Chennai Super Kings opening batsman Faf du Plessis put on display exceptional fielding effort to save four runs for his team.

It all happened on the penultimate delivery of the penultimate over after Delhi leg-spinner Amit Mishra hit Deepak Chahar for a lofted shot. With the ball seeming to go for a six through the long-on region, du Plessis timed his dive to perfection to register another outstanding boundary effort.

With the ball slated to go for a six, du Plessis’ effort saw it being restricted to a couple of runs. While Mishra hit the last ball of the over for a six, Capitals’ innings was summed up by Ishant Sharma scoring a six and a four and Trent Boult hitting one six in the last over being bowled by Chennai all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja.

After Chennai captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni won the toss and chose to field, Delhi ended up scoring 147/9 in their allotted quota of 20 overs. Wicket-keeper batsman Rishabh Pant, who came in to bat at No. 5 in the ninth over, top-scored for DC scoring 38 (25) with the help of four fours and a six.

With bowling figures of 4-0-19-2, CSK all-rounder Dwayne Bravo was the pick of the bowlers for the defending champions.
