Brock Lesnar: Jon Moxley reveals that Brock Lesnar changed the ending of SummerSlam 2018
Brock Lesnar: Jon Moxley reveals that Brock Lesnar changed the ending of SummerSlam 2018. Says the Shield was supposed to make a return that night.
Jon Moxley has been on a tell all spree since his appearance at Chris Jericho’s Talk is Jericho Podcast. Moxley revealed that he was depressed during his time in the WWE and his disgust with the Roman Reigns Leukaemia reference. He spoke a mouthful on Vince McMahon and blamed him for everything wrong in the WWE right now.

He continued the tirade against the WWE chairman on Wade Keller’s Podcast where he claimed that Triple H was the better man to lead the multibillion-dollar company. In the same podcast, Moxley revealed the original ending to SummerSlam 2018 and said how Brock Lesnar changed the entire plans and Vince agreed; making everyone else look stupid in the process.
The original ending
“SummerSlam this year the end of the show was supposed to be when the Shield returns. We were worried about it not being as impactful the next night. It still worked just as good. The end of SummerSlam was Roman vs. Brock, Braun comes out, looks like a doofus because he can’t figure out how to cash in.”
“How it ever went was Brock’s idea, Brock, comes in at 6 p.m. and changes everything. Vince is like, we are going to go with Brock’s idea. It made everyone else look stupid but Brock.”
The ending, while entirely different, still saw the same match result. Brock Lesnar lost the match with Roman pinning him for his maiden Universal championship win. However, having Braun on the sides did end up making Brock look strong in defeat. Raw featured the unused ending with the Shield fending off Braun after Roman’s match with Finn Balor.
