MS Dhoni army gloves controversy: Gautam Gambhir comments on ICC for its intervention on Dhoni sporting the military insignia gloves
The Cricketer turned politician Gautam Gambhir has opened up on MS Dhoni’s apparent army insignia wicket-keeping gloves that came under the ICC scanner during India’s tournament opener against South Africa in the ongoing 2019 Cricket World Cup.
The 37-year-old has some loads of advice for the World Cricket’s apex body, after it has passed its final verdict on the aforementioned issue, disallowing the veteran wicket-keeper batsman to sport his Balidaan badged wicket-keeping gloves in the upcoming matches.
“ICC should concentrate on the game”- Gambhir
The 37-year-old believes that The ICC should concentrate on the ongoing World Cup matches, and not on what a player is sporting or not.
“The ICC’s job is to run cricket in the right way, not to see who is wearing the gallows and the logo on it”, said Gambhir during an interaction with TV9 Bharatvarsh.

Gambhir also adviced the ICC that they should focus on making pitches that are suitable for the bowlers, instead of putting a whole-hearted effort on turning them into a batting paradise for the batsmen.
“ICC ought to look into the matter that we should not have 300-400 run total. ICC work is to provide pitches for bowlers as well and not make every condition suitable for batters only. The entire logo issue is being unnecessarily given importance,” said Gambhir.
The entire nation stood in support of MS Dhoni as hashtags such as #DhoniKeeptheGlove and #DhoniKeSaathDesh were trending on Friday, as people believed that the Balidaan badge is a symbol of pride and does not hurt anybody’s sentiments.
