AB de Villiers says sorry to the RCB fans after the match

It was yet another brilliant game in IPL 2018, as the Chinnaswamy stadium saw their beloved RCB side get over the line against a plucky KXIP side.

Chasing a modest 156 runs to win, RCB did not get a great start, as they lost Brendon McCullum in the very first over. Young Afgan bowler, Rahman, was superb with the ball, with his dismissal of Kohli being one of the highlights of the night.

Rahman foxed the best batsman in the world, as Kohli was completely flummoxed with the googly. Ashwin then struck twice in two ball, as the KXIP skipper used all of his guile and skill to bring his side back into the hunt.

In the end it was left to AB de Villiers to win it for RCB, as the South African played a wonderful 57 to ease the nerves for his side.

AB though was dismissed just before the end of the match, and was thoroughly disappointed to leave the job unfinished. This is what he said after the match,

“Really wanted to get over the line. Wanted to be not out in the end but feel sorry that I got out and put pressure on the lower order batsmen. I love guiding the team to victory being unbeaten, unfortunately couldn’t do that.

“Anyways, credit to their bowling unit. The wicket was little bit on the slower side and Yuzi (Chahal) and Sundar bowled well. They got the important wickets and got the momentum our way at half stage.

“It’s a really special place to play cricket – the Chinnaswamy. Get a lot of crowd support here. We didn’t have a good season last year but we are going to make up for it this year.”
