It was a solid match. The Battle Royal started slow  but picked steam at the end. MJF stayed the longest in the match lasting till the end. Hangman Page came out as the Joker in the Pack at 21. Orange Cassidy had a short but entertaining part in the match lazily kicking hardcore legend Tommy Dreamer. Jimmy Havoc, Hangman Page, MJF and LuchaSaurus were the last 4 in the match. However, the Joker in the Pack took the Battle Royal home and will now face the winner of the Omega Vs Jericho match for the AEW World Championship in the future.

Result: Adam ‘ Hangman’ Page wins the Casino Battle Royal

Sammy Guevara vs. Kip Sabian

A perfect exhibition of athleticism. , Sammy worked the crowd as a heel and got them to boo him, though. Sammy went for a 630 but Kip had his knees up, and then delivered his Deathly Hallows finish. With that Kip Sabian has now become the first ever singles winner in the AEW.

Result: Kip Sabian Defeats Sammy Guevara

Main Card

SCU (Christopher Daniels, Frankie Kazarian, and Scorpio Sky) vs. CIMA, T-Hawk, and Lindaman

This was a fun opening match. For most of the world this was the introduction to AEW and the men in the ring did a good job, Daniels BME’d onto Kaz while he was holding Lindaman in a tombstone to end the match.

Result: SCU (Christopher Daniels, Frankie Kazarian, and Scorpio Sky) def. CIMA, Lindaman & T-Hawk

Britt Baker vs. Nyla Rose vs. Kylie Rae Vs Awesome Kong

Brandy Rhodes walked out saying she didn’t want a great match but an awesome match  and inserted Awesome Kong into the match. This was another brilliant match. Kong played her role to perfection. Her strength beautifully contrasted with the agility of the other smaller women. Brit Baker won the match Via Pinfall after an Ushigoroshi on Kylie Rae to become the first female winner of the fledgling company.

Result: Britt Baker def. Kylie Rae (via pinfall), Nyla Rose and Awesome Kong

Angelico and Jack Evans vs. The Best Friends

A lot of first tonight. This match was the first traditional tag team match tonight. It started with Beretta getting beaten by Evans and Angelico as they worked sorta heelish here.

The match soon became an outlandish aerial affair. Both teams tried to one up each other. The finish saw Taylor landing a Doomsday Sexy Chuckie Knee off the top rope on Evans before taking out Angelico with a tope con hilo over.

After the match, the four participants shook hands and were about to hug as the lights went out. Evil Uno & Stupefied stood in the ring when the lights came on. They were soon joined by masked minions who beat down both the Best Friends and Angelico & Jack/Evans.

Result: Best Friends def. Angelico & Jack Evans via pinfall

Aja Kong, Yuka Sakazaki, and Emi Sakura vs. Hikaru Shida, Riho Abe, and Ryo Mizunami

This was a good match early on but it seemed to overstay its welcome. For a good time early on. The match even got a this is wrestling chant. That wouldn’t last long however.

Sakura hit a moonsault on Hikaru and went for the pin. However, Hikaru kicked out at two. The referee even acknowledged the kick out but the bell rang anyway. The crowd soon turned on the match with “You f*#@’d up” chants being elicited by the audience. The match eventually finished with Shida pinning Sakura.

Result: Hikaru Shida, Riho & Ryo Mizunami def. Aja Kong, Yuka Sakazaki & Emi Sakura

Cody vs. Dustin Rhodes

This match was everything it set out to be. A very passionate and emotional match. Dustin was the star of the match, wowing the crowd and earning a “You still got it chant”.

Cody’s wife, Brandi, tried to interfere in the match but was sent back by Earl Hebner. Later in the match Cody Low Blowed Dustin and hit him with a Crossroads but the veteran wrestler managed to kick out. After a back and forth, Cody hits Dustin with another Crossroads for the win.

The American Nightmare then asked Dustin a favor. He informed his brother of his desire to team up and face the Young Bucks at the Next Pay Per View. The two men then shared a tearful embrace.

Result: Cody Defeats Dustin by Pinfall

AAll Elite Wrestling Championship Belt Unveiled

AEW had earlier announced that they would unveil their Championship at the Double or Nothing Pay per View. The belt has now been officially introduced to wrestling fans and the AEW now has a legit championship for its competitors to fight for.

The Championship belt was revealed by Wrestling legend and former WWE Champion, Bret Hart. Bret reminisced about a title match he had in Vegas. He then called out the Casino Battle Royal winner, Hangman Page. MJF walked out to interrupt the ceremony of sorts and berated everyone. He cut a promo on the crowd for being jealous of him. MJF called himself the future of AEW. He then turned to Hangman and told him that he was like a horse and when a horse has a bum leg, you blow their brains out. He proceeds to demand Hangman to relinquish his title shot and give it to a real man.

MJF stepped on the apron and Page tried takes a punch at him. However, he jumped off. Jungle Boy then walked out. MJF however, walked past him saying he didn’t want to wrestle a teenage boy. Jimmy Havoc then soon walked out. MJF soon found himself trapped between Paige, Jungle Boy, and Havoc. MJF threw a punch at Jungle Boy but was then taken out by all three guys.

The Young Bucks (c) vs. Pentagon Jr.and Fenix (AAA WORLD TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP)

The only title match in the entire card and the wrestlers wrestled like their lived depended on it. The action was fast paced and non stop. Far too many big moments in this match. The biggest one though had to be Matt Jackson’s brainbuster onto the top rope on Rey Fenix. The Lucha Brothers almost won the match after Pentagon Jr. snapped Matt’s arm late and hit a package piledriver. The Young Bucks however, managed to defend their titles after teaming up for a Meltzer Driver on Fenix.

Result: The Young Bucks (c) def. Pentagon Jr. & Rey Fenix to retain the AAA Tag Team championship

Kenny Omega vs. Chris Jericho
(Winner will be contender for AEW World Championship and face Casino Battle Royal winner at a later date)

Chris Jericho beat Kenny Omega and will now face Hangman Page for the AEW World Championship match. Omega and Jericho took part in the main event of the fledgeling company’s first ever pay per view. Jericho who sealed his victory with a codebreaker on ‘The Cleaner’. However, this fight will not be remembered for the absolutely physical bout the two had. Instead it will be talked about for years for the debut of former WWE Champion Jon Moxley fka Dean Ambrose. Moxley took out everyone in the ring including the referee. He threw Omega onto a poker chip stage.

Result: Jericho beats Omega and will now face Hangman Page for the AEW Championship.

That’s all the live updates and results from AEW Double or Nothing.

Each bruise a story to tell, each wound a song of struggle, his greatest desire is to be there to witness it all.
