Ajax team news: Ajax predicted line up vs Juventus for CL clash
Ajax is set to host Juventus for the first leg of the Champions League quarterfinal tie. We take a look at the Dutch side’s predicted line up for the game.
Ajax will host Juventus for the first leg of the Champions League quarterfinal at the Johan Cruyff Stadium in Amsterdam.
The side pulled out an incredible comeback in the round-of-16 of the Champions League, when they beat Real Madrid 4-1 in the second leg – winning 5-3 on aggregate.
The young Dutch side is aiming for an unlikely treble, as they’re currently at the top of their league, and have also reached the final of the domestic cup competition.
They face Cristiano Ronaldo’s Juventus, however, which seems a huge task at hand. While Real Madrid were having a difficult season themselves, the Italian side is on the verge of winning another Serie A. With Ronaldo on their side, Juventus are one of the top contenders for the Champions League title.
We take a look at the Ajax side which can be put out to stop Allegri’s men on Wednesday night.
Ajax predicted line up vs Juventus:
Goalkeeper – Onana
The Cameroonian goalkeeper, who played for Barcelona during his youth days, has been top notch for Ajax this season. He produced a stellar performance against Real Madrid in the second leg, and Ajax’s fans would hope for a similar display when Juventus arrives in Amsterdam.
Defence – Kristensen, De Ligt, Blind, Tagliafico
Matthijs De Ligt has been immense in the defence for Ajax, and former Manchester United star Daley Blind has complimented his defensive partner efficiently. We can expect this back four as they work in tandem to pulverize Juventus’ attacking threats.
Midfield: De Beek, De Jong, Schone
Frenkie De Jong showed glimpses of what was about to come for Real Madrid when he schooled the Real Madrid players in the second leg at Santiago Bernabeu. The Ajax midfielder needs to be at his ultimate best against Juventus for the side to have a chance in the game.
Attack: Ziyech, Tadic, Neres
Dusan Tadic produced arguably his best performance of his career against Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu. Partnering him in the attack will be David Neres and Hakim Ziyech.
