Juventus team news: Juventus predicted line up vs Ajax for CL clash

Juventus will take on Ajax in the first leg of the Champions League quarterfinal at the Amsterdam Arena. We take a look at Juventus predicted line up vs Ajax.

Juventus will travel to the Amsterdam Arena to take on Ajax in the first leg of the quarterfinal tie of the Champions League.

The Dutch side secured an emphatic turnaround in the round-of-16 of the European competition, when the side defeated Real Madrid 4-1 at the Santiago Bernabeu. Santiago Solari was soon sacked as the coach of Real Madrid following the loss, with Zinedine Zidane returning to the manager’s bench.

Juventus, like Ajax, also made a brilliant comeback in the second leg against Atletico Madrid after facing a 2-0 defeat at Wanda Metropolitano. Cristiano Ronaldo scored a hattrick for the side as he ousted his former city rivals.

While Ronaldo has returned from the training, we take a look at whether he will be the part of the playing XI for the game. Let’s take a look at the Juventus predicted line up against Ajax.

Juventus predicted line up vs Ajax

Goalkeeper – Szczesny

The former Arsenal goalkeeper has been impressive for Juventus this season, as he replaced club’s legendary goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon. Szczesny needs to be in top form in the game against Ajax, however, as the young Dutch side will aim to catch quick breaks in the game.

Defender – Cancelo, Rugani, Bonucci, Sandro

Massimiliano Allegri’s side faced a huge setback ahead of the game against Ajax, as Giorgio Chiellini didn’t train with the side. As a result, the only replacement for Chiellini in the position, Daniele Rugani, is expected to feature in the game.

Allegri may also not be inclined to tweak the formation at this stage of the season, so we can expect Cancelo, Bonucci and Sandro in a four-man defence.

Midfield: Khedira, Pjanic, Matuidi

Juventus will aim to finish the game at the Johan Cruyff Arena to negate the possibility of another comeback for Ajax. And so, the midfield-three of Sami Khedira, Miralem Pjanic and Blaise Matuidi will have to work in tandem to produce attacking chances in the game.

Forward: Bernardeschi, Mandzukic, Ronaldo

Cristiano Ronaldo might return for this leg as he trained with the side ahead of the clash. The Portuguese forward must be raring to come back into action, and what better than a Champions League quarterfinal for him?

He has a brilliant record against Ajax as well, scoring 7 goals in 5 competitive games against the Dutch side. Bernardeschi and Mandzukic will partner Cristiano Ronaldo in a three-man attack as Juventus aims to take an unassailable lead in Amsterdam.

Predicted line up for Juventus:

Szczesny, Cancelo, Rugani, Bonucci, Sandro, Khedira, Pjanic, Matuidi, Bernardeschi, Mandzukic, Ronaldo.
