Liverpool had one of their best campaigns in recent memory last season. The reds, fell just a point short of Manchester City in the Premier League. However, there was no slipping up in the Champions League as they conquered Europe.

Several of their players performed out of their skins to help the club reach the top with central defender Virgil Van Dijk even winning the PFA, FIFA and UEFA player of the year. He came in 2^nd behind Lionel Messi in the Balon d’Or awards with many, including his manager Jurgen Klopp believing that he should have won the prestigious award.

However, there is one Liverpool player, who is miffed with the public backing Van Dijk received from Jurgen Klopp and is now looking for a way out of Merseyside.

Sadio Mane eyes Liverpool exit

Following Lionel Messi’s Ballon d’Or win, Klopp had said:

‘Last season I cannot remember a more impressive season from a defender ever. Honestly.

‘So, it would have been right if Virg won it.’

However, according to France Football, this has left Sadio Mane fuming with the German manager. The Senegalese winger, who ended the 2018/19 season as the joint top scorer in the Premier league, was himself hoping to win the award and emulate George Weah to become just the second African Ballon d’Or winner.

The report claims that he is now open to a move in the summer.

Mane has been linked with a move to Real Madrid in recent times. Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane is a keen admirer of the forward and could pursue Mane once again this summer; having tried and failed last season.
