Alexis Sanchez: Patrice Evra calls Manchester United star 'money-minded'

Alexis Sanchez: Patrice Evra calls Manchester United star ‘money-minded’ as Alexis Sanchez failed to perform despite earning massive wages.

Ex-Manchester United player Patrice Evra recently called out Alexis Sanches and called him money minded after failing to perform for the Red Devils.

Patrice Evra while talking to Sky Sports, questioned Chilean International’s motivation to play for the club.

“Some players only come for the money, I am not afraid to say that. I have nothing against him, but Sanchez, when I saw the deal, that’s when I thought the Manchester United history just went down.”

‘He had Manchester City, they were offering less money but he was going to play better football than United – I’m sorry about that, but City play better football and Guardiola will improve him. ‘So I want to know what is the real reason for choosing United? Don’t tell me he loved Manchester United when he was a kid. It’s either the money or he wanted to be the number one, take the No 7 shirt and be the star.’

The 30-year-old superstar moved from Arsenal to Old Trafford in January 2018, making him the highest-earner in the squad with £500,000/week.

Despite, the lucrative wages, Sanchez has been underwhelming for the most part of his career with the Red Devils. Therefore, it has compelled the Manchester United fans to criticize him for his performances.

The veteran forward have only scored one goal in 20 league matches this season, a horrendous campaign for him considering the expectations.

Moreover, a disappointing sixth position in the league has also propelled fans to question certain players regarding their commitment towards the club.

However, after losing against Cardiff City on the final day of the Premier league, Alexis Sanchez issued an apology to fans on social media for his poor exhibits and form.

⬇️ 🙏🏽 It was a very tough season…the fan are the ones who deserve an apology as they always support you no matter what happens. Personally, I didn’t perform as much as I was expecting because of unpredictable injuries. Press and people were speculating of things that were not even true. I was always a professional in all aspects. I apologise to the fans 🙏 for not be able to achieve our goals,Nevertheless we are Manchester United! Players and Staff are questioning if we were doing the right thing and if we were giving our best for this football shirt … I’m certain that Manchester United one day will return to be the club, as it was in the old days with Mr. Alex Ferguson. 💪🏽….
