The veteran king of Bollywood, Amitabh Bachchan was delighted to meet Indian cricketing stars in Mumbai on two occasions recently. Bachchan’s love for cricket is not hidden, as the legend has been seen many times supporting Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League (IPL) or cheering for India in international games.
The veteran actor is always determined to maintain a connection with the sport, and he even had a short commentary stint in Australia during the 2015 Cricket World Cup. The 75-year-old keeps praising the Indian stars on Twitter from time to time, and is an avid supporter even in bad times.
To say he is a die-hard cricket fan, will be an understatement. Indian cricketers and actors share a common respect for each other, with the two professions being the most-loved ones in the nation.
Earlier this week, Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma hosted their 2nd grand reception in Mumbai. The guests invited varied from numerous cricketers to Bollywood superstars. While many guests were enjoying the occasion, Bachchan took out time to have a chat with the Indian cricketers.
The following day, Mumbai Indians star all-rounder, Krunal Pandya married his girlfriend in Mumbai, which came as another opportunity for the 75-year-old to interact with the Men in Blue.
Amitabh Bachchan, nicknamed as “Big B”, has come up with many fascinating tweets in recent times about the progress of the Indian squad, and appears to be a big fan of the Pandya brothers.
The younger of the Pandya brothers, Hardik, remembered an incident from the IPL, where the senior Bachchan came to the post-match party, leaving the cricketer stunned.
Hardik Pandya, who is believed to be a huge fan of Sr Bachchan recalled this incident in a show with famous anchor, Gaurav Kapur, named ‘Breakfast With Champions’.
The veteran actor was exhilarated to meet the Indian cricketers, and his tweets are a clear evidence of that.
