Ander Herrera is yet to agree to a new contract with Manchester United, and his recent comments suggest that he could be on his way out of Old Trafford this summer.
Ander Herrera has been one of the key midfielders for Manchester United throughout the years.
In this season, he was reduced to a squad player under Jose Mourinho. However, after Solskjaer’s arrival, Herrera found a place in the starting XI. The midfielder has become one of the key first-team players under the Norwegian.
Recently, the speculations surrounding Ander Herrera’s future at the club have grown. The midfielder hasn’t signed a new contract with Manchester United yet.
PSG are reportedly interested in the midfielder, and Ander Herrera has now confirmed that the contractual talks with the club aren’t going as planned. He also hinted that he could leave Old Trafford in the summer.
Ander Herrera on Man Utd future:
The Spanish midfielder stated that there’s no agreement over an extension of the contract with Manchester United at the moment. In an exclusive interview with Spanish media outlet ABC, Ander Herrera stated that the two parties can’t come to a mutual understanding at the moment.
“It’s true that I only have two months on my contract left, and today, Manchester (United) and I aren’t thinking the same and there is no renewal agreement,” the midfielder said.
“But my duty is to keep listening to United.”
He also stated that he will continue to play for a ‘big team’, fuelling the rumours linking him with a move to Paris Saint-Germain. He insisted that the talks over a new contract haven’t ended, but he is open to moving to a new club.
“What I have clear is that I’m going to continue playing in a big team… I will listen to United, of course, but also to other clubs. I do not close doors,” said the midfielder.
Ander Herrera joined Manchester United in 2014 and played a key role in the side’s FA Cup and Europa League triumphs during his time at the club.

Love Ander Herrera. Think he’s been a great servant to the club and I don’t really want him to go, but if his replacement is Tanguy Ndombélé then I’d pack his bags for him & I would drive him to the airport myself. That guy is a baller.

What’s your honest take on Ander Herrera? Should United be paying him the money he wants or are they taking the right stance in not giving him what he wants? https://t.co/zcoceFCb3J
