Mane was given a harsh booking at the end of the first half of Liverpool’s FIFA World Club Cup final against Flamengo on Saturday afternoon.

The half-time whistle went moments later and as the players walked off Robertson made sure Mane knew that the Scotsman would deal with the consequences.

Mane had been in a struggle with Rafina and had got ahead of the Brazilian who tugged his shirt and Senegal forward tried to push off the opposition player.

Really the Reds’ player should have been given the free-kick but instead, he was booked and clearly Robertson took exception to the incorrect decision by the referee.

Surely, keeping Mane on booking list was a blatant effort by the match officials. Nevertheless, Liverpool marked another victory in their campaign and they will finally lift the trophy for the first time.
