Antoine Semenyo to Man Utd:

Antoine Semenyo to Man Utd: Manchester United have been in fine attacking form this season and now look to bolster the offence further.

Manchester United have been impressive under caretaker manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. The side has won seven successive games and look to secure a place in the fifth round of the FA Cup when they take on Arsenal this weekend.

In the transfer market, however, the club has largely been inactive despite being linked with numerous deals.

However, the club is working on potential targets underground and one of them is Bristol City’s Antoine Semeyo, who currently plays at Newport County on loan.

The club’s player-loan manager, Brian Tinnion recently confirmed Manchester United’s interest in the player.

Antoine Semenyo to Man Utd:

Bristol City’s player-loan manager Brian Tinnion stated on the podcast, “Robins on the Wire” that Manchester United are interested in Semenyo.

I was sat with a Man United scout at Newport the other week, to be honest, and they really like him,” Tinnion said, as quoted by Bristol Live.

“People will like him because he’s 19 years of age.”

Semenyo is currently playing for League Two side Newport County on loan from the club.

The player signed for Bristol City in 2017 and has impressed in the youth ranks for the club. He was loaned out to Bath City in 2017/18 season in the National League South, where he scored six goals in nine appearances.

According to the report, Manchester United are not the only interest eyeing a move for the player. Chelsea are also interested in signing Semenyo.

TeamTalk, meanwhile has reported that Semenyo is in the final year of his contract at Bristol City, and the club is inclined towards selling the player in the current transfer window, rather than potentially losing him for nothing at the end of the season.

The media outlet has further reported that the Championships side is seeking £2m for the forward.

What next?

Manchester United will be back in action on Saturday as they take on Arsenal in the FA Cup fourth-round tie.

As with the transfer battle with Chelsea over Semenyo, the things are heating up between both the clubs in the Premier League table as well.

Solskjaer’s side closed the gap with the fourth-placed Chelsea to three points last weekend, while they’re level with Arsenal on the table.
