Argentina Vs Chile Dream11 Prediction: The SportsRush brings you the Dream11 Prediction between Argentina and Chile.
The Copa America is coming to a close soon with only two matches left in the tournament. Hosts Brazil will look to win the competition on their home soil against Peru on Monday. Meanwhile, Argentina and Chile face each other in the third position playoff. The former were knocked out by Brazil while Peru took care of Chile. Argentina and Chile have met thrice in the last two editions of the Copa, including consecutive finals in 2015 and 2016. The defending Champions came out on top in both matches.
The favourites for tomorrow are definitely Chile, who faced considerable bad luck in the Semis. Peru scored with every chance they had on target while Pedro Gallese pulled a goalkeeping masterclass on the other side.
Argentina Vs Chile Dream11 Team
Formation: 3-4-3
GOALKEEPER
Gabriel Arias: I had two goalkeeping options at my disposal and I’ve gone for what is the safer bet. Arias did make some errors in the previous game but he’s an experienced goalkeeper and has performed well throughout the tournament.
DEFENDERS
Nicolas Otamendi: The Manchester City centre back has been in decent form in this edition of the South American tournament. He’s accumulated the most points of any Argentina defender and his natural habit of tackling gets him good Defensive points.
Nicolas Tagliafico: Namesake of the aforementioned Argentina defender, Tagliafico plays on the left side of a back four for his national team. He’s very good getting forward and tracks back on time. His crossing also makes him a natural threat for any defence.
Gary Medel: Medel has been part of the Chilean team for a long time and is a beast at the centre half position. He’s surprisingly quick and very strong. The 31-year-old likes to tackle a lot and his point total in the Dream11 players slot is a testament to that.
MIDFIELDERS
Charles Aránguiz(VC): Naturally a central attacking midfielder, Aránguiz has played as a central midfielder for Chile. He paves his way forward with every passing minute and likes to create chances from through balls. He’s created an insane 17 goal scoring chances in 5 games and has given 3 assists. He’s my choice as Vice Captain for the game and will come out of the game with a handful of points.
Giovanni Lo Celso: The young Real Betis attacking midfielder is diverse, quick and very intelligent. He was the key player for his club in the past season and has shown the same form in the Copa America. He was benched in the last two games, but, it turned out to be a bad decision on both occasions. He came off the bench to score against Venezuela and put the game to bed.
Erick Pulgar: Pulgar acts as the deepest player in a three-man midfield for Chile and has probably been the best player in the tournament in that position. He’s started all games and has scored one goal, the opener against Japan in the first game. Pulgar has a sweet strike in him and can shoot from distance if he gets space.
Leandro Paredes: The 25-year-old PSG midfielder has given few of the best performances in his life in this Copa America. He acts as a deep-lying playmaker and has given 7 key passes in the form of through balls and lobbed passes. He gave a wonderful performance against Qatar and was named man of the match. His vision from deep will help him play as an important role against what is a high line Chilean midfield.
FORWARDS
Lautaro Martinez: Lautaro is the latest addition in the star-studded Argentina attack that had been underperforming for a few years now. However, the Inter Milan striker has shown more determination, strength and character than all their strikers combined. The 21-year-old loves a goal and isn’t bullied easily. He’s been referred to as a raging bull by fans because of his physical approach when he’s on the ball. There’s no such thing as a light match in the Copa America and Lautaro will be the key player in the match against what is a very vigorous Chile team.
Eduardo Vargas: A Golden Ball and Golden Boot winner in a previous edition, no one knows this tournament quite like Vargas. He’s started all 5 games and has scored 2 goals. He had the opportunity to take this tally to 3 in the last game but his 94th min penalty was saved by Gallese who kept a very well deserved clean sheet.
Alexis Sanchez(C): Alexis Sanchez has been Chile’s best player in this tournament and was the best player in the entire tournament in 2016. He’s been directly involved in 3 goals in 5 games, scoring twice and giving one assist. He seemed to be the only forward for Chile who was trying to create chances against Peru but lost out on the lack of more determined forwards. He’s my captain for the game and could be the difference between these two sides.
