Arteta is said to be the main force driving the deal
He might have missed out on playing in the Premier League last season but Nabil Fekir could finally see him dream come to fruition.

Reports emanating from Spain strongly allude towards Arsenal’s interest in the Real Betis. And if the reports are to be believed, the club is not just monitoring Fekir’s situation but is on the cusp of launching a bid for the player as they look to make him their first signing in the summer.
Estadio Deportivo claim Arsenal are extremely interested in signing Fekir as soon as the ongoing season comes to an end. Despite being extremely short on funds, the club would be willing to splurge a decent amount on Fekir owing to Arteta’s long standing interest in the player.
Mikel Arteta is said to have wanted to immerse in Fekir’s services last season as well as he looked to replace the player with on loan Dani Ceballos. Along with Arteta’s enchantment with the player, Fekir signing a new agency in Spain has further signalled at him moving on from Real Betis.
Fekir had joined Real Betis in 2019 for 17.7 million pounds after seeing a previous deal with Liverpool fail to go through. On the anvils of a 35 million pound deal to Liverpool, Fekir had seen the deal collapse as Liverpool pulled out at the last moment citing injury fears with Fekir.
Fekir has since gone onto impress for Real Betis with the attacking player contributing to 14 goals in his maiden season at the club. He’s pulled off seven this term as well with him carving some eye catching strikes.
While Real Betis are yet to put an asking price for Fekir, the player has a 90 million euro buyout clause. However, its one the La Liga side will have to massively lower especially with Arsenal known to be extremely frugal when it comes to dishing out the cash.
Barcelona are also said to hold an avid interest in Fekir with a two way bidding war for the player likely this summer.
