Arsenal transfer news: Brazilian top target confirms he wants move amid Arsenal interest

Arsenal received a major boost as Brazilian youngster Wesley Moraes has stated that he would prefer a move to the Premier League.

Unai Emery’s side is picking up the pace in the Premier League as the competition reaches its business end.

Arsenal defeated Newcastle United 2-0 earlier this week to remain in the fight for the top-4. The side is currently fourth in the league table – two points ahead of Manchester United, and ahead on goal difference over Chelsea.

While Arsenal aim to qualify for Champions League next season, the side is also busy shortlisting the players for the next season.

One of the transfer targets for Unai Emery in the summer is reported to be Wesley Moraes. The Brazilian, who currently plays for Club Brugge in the Belgian Pro League, has contributed to 23 goals throughout the season for the side, scoring 14 of them.

Wesley Moraes to Arsenal?

Arsenal have been one of the clubs who were speculated with an interest for the Brazilian forward.

Wesley, in an interview with Belgian newspaper Het Belang van Limburg, signified that he wants a move to the Premier League.

The reporter from the newspaper listed down a series of clubs (PSG, Lazio, Everton, Fiorentina, Guangzhou Evergrande, CSKA Moscow and Arsenal) as those who were interested in the player. He then asked Moraes if he had any particular preference among the clubs mentioned above.

“I have read all those names,” the Brazilian replied.

“It is of course completely different going to China than to another European country. I don’t know what I want, I don’t want to exclude anything.

“I do know that I once said that I want to go to England and that is still the case. I have always closely followed the Premier League. But I am certainly also open to other leagues,” Moraes said.

Arsenal didn’t make a signing in the January transfer window due to lack of funds. However, they completed a loan move for Barcelona’s Denis Suarez towards the end of the month.
