Arsenal Transfer News: Unai Emery targets to land Serie A starlet this summer as Tottenham Hotspurs vie with city rivals for him.
In recent updates, Arsenal’s target Joachim Andersen has admitted in an interaction with the Goal about his interaction with several club amidst massive interest from Arsenal.
“It could be time for me to further my career,” he told Goal. “I have loved my time in Sampdoria – the fans, the president, the staff, the players, the city – but maybe it’s time to move on to develop further.
“There are a number of interested clubs from Europe’s biggest leagues who are discussing with my agent and I’ll be making a decision shortly together with my family and my agent.”
The Sampdoria defender had an impressive season with the Italian outfit, as he gave 32 appearances in the league for Sampdoria. However, the player now seeks a new challenge as mentioned above.
“It’s very important to me that Sampdoria can also benefit from an eventual transfer. It’s not all about me,” he said. “I have so much to thank this great club for. Without Sampdoria, I wouldn’t have had the opportunities I have had to this point.”
On the other hand, Arsenal require certain reinforcements at the back, as Laurent Koscielny is set to leave the club this summer, and underwhelming performances by the defenders makes Andersen a viable option.
Moreover, considering the player is in the initial phase of his career, he can give valuable years of his career to Arsenal. However, Arsenal are not the only club to be in pursuit, as the player above mentioned that he is contact with several other clubs.
The list includes Arsenal’s city rivals Tottenham and French club Lyon, as they also seek to hire the services of the 23-year-old defender, and constantly kept him under their radar.
Therefore, the North London club have to bid a lucrative deal to Andersen, in order to secure his signing amid interests from top European clubs.
