Arsenal transfer news: Unai Emery tells Arsenal to submit bid for PSG star

Arsenal transfer news: Arsenal have been disappointing in the last few weeks and could miss on CL qualification, which has forced the club to make swift moves in the market.

Arsenal’s performances in the last few weeks have dipped at a rapid rate. The side faced defeats in its last three Premier League games and could miss out on a Champions League qualification if they fail to win the Europa League.

Unai Emery’s men will take on Valencia in the semifinal of the continental tournament on Thursday this week.

The poor performances have raised the urgency for Arsenal to act in the transfer market. The upcoming transfer window could be another significant overhaul in Arsenal’s squad.

Unai Emery signed five players before the beginning of the season, and all of them are first-team regulars at this stage. However, the Arsenal fans and pundits alike have demanded more infusion of quality in the Arsenal squad.

First summer signing incoming?

According to English media outlet Evening Standard, Unai Emery is interested in a reunion with PSG star Christopher Nkunku.

The Arsenal head coach promoted Nkunku in the first team during his time at Paris Saint-Germain and wants to work with the midfielder again.

The report further states that Emery wants Arsenal to bid 17.2m pounds for Nkunku. PSG, too, is said to be considering offers for the midfielder and are inclined towards selling the player if an offer in the region of 20m pounds comes.

However, Arsenal’s success in the move, as well as in the transfer window, could depend on their final position in the Premier League and the Europa League this season.

Emery achieved Europa League success on three occasions with Sevilla and is expected to prioritise the continental tournament yet again, as a top-4 place seems to be slipping away in the Premier League.
