Arsenal are currently hoping to sign Nkunku from PSG, but moves for Perisic and Carrasco are called off.
Arsenal have been trying to reinforce their squad in the January transfer window. The Gunners have already welcomed Denis Suarez to their roster after the negotiations took on for more than a month with Barcelona.
In the pre-match press conference, Unai Emery said that the club are looking to work on several deals and he said the maximum number of new heads seen in the club would be two.
“We are looking at two different players and the possibility they can come. If they aren’t coming to help us like we want, I prefer they don’t come. The club is telling me that this moment is not good to buy players but the club say to me in the summer it is going to be different. And we are going to have chances to take and spend money to buy players.” said the Spaniard.
Arsenal’s attempts to sign Ivan Perisic from Inter Milan or fellow-winger Yannick Carrasco of Dalian Yifang look to be over but they are still working on Paris-St German midfielder Christopher Nkunku after sealing Denis Suarez deal. Apart from Denis Suarez, the club was working on the deals for Ivan Perisic, Christopher Nkunku, and Yannick Carrasco. However, the ever reliable David Ornstein has said that the club are currently pressing to get over the line for the Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Christopher Nkunku.
Whereas, the deals for Ivan Perisic and Yannick Carrasco looked to have been blown off as Inter Milan are not willing to negotiate with the Gunners for the Croatian International. On the other hand, the Belgian International looks to stay out as the offer from the English outfit has been deemed too low to accept.
Despite handing in a transfer request, Ivan Perisic is said to continue at San Siro with the Nerazzurri until the end of the season as his request has been turned down by the club. Yannick Carrasco, who is looking to move back to Europe is said to stay put at China.
Christopher Nkunku’s agent’s remarks in full make for interesting reading – Mr Fanfan seems to suggest the player could wait for Arsenal in summer: “If he has to wait, he is ready to wait.” https://t.co/vvq8ubNlp1

As per @lequipe Arsenal in talks to sign Christopher Nkunku. Early days & complex. #AFC want loan + option to buy, #PSG want cover + new contract pre-loan. Seems 21yo keen & not key to Tuchel plans. Seen as versatile + possible Ramsey successor. Full consensus among AFC hierarchy

However, there is still a huge chance to see Christopher Nkunku in Arsenal colours as the French outfit have barely utilized him this term.
The priority has always been a centre-back, but Unai Emery is looking to buy a player who would capable to play through the wide too. With Denis Suarez, they have a versatile midfielder, but it remains to be seen if the Gunners would close the deal for Nkunku as quickly as possible.
