Arturo Vidal Red Card: Barcelona superstar to miss return leg for picking two yellow cards in one incident

Arturo Vidal Red Card: Barcelona star midfielder superstar set to miss the return leg against Napoli after picking two controversial red card.

Barcelona will not be pleased with the fact that their star midfielder would be fielding against Napoli without Arturo Vidal in the second leg of the Champions League clash at the Nou Camp.

The Chilean International has no one else to blame except for himself, he made an ugly tackle on Mario Rui, after which both were involved in a heated confrontation, Vidal was seen by the referee clashing head with Rui.

After this, the referee books Rui for his alteration with Vidal, on the other hand, in the same game-play Vidal was shown two yellow cards (one for the challenge and other for engaging with Rui), a rather unusual sight.

Thus, he had to leave the pitch as it turned to be a red card since it was not a straight red card, it was not a subject of the scrutiny of the VAR, which ended Barcelona’s all hopes to challenge the referee’s decision.

This means Vidal will not be available for the second leg against Napoli in the return leg of the tie, giving a huge blow to Quique Seiten. The problems for Barcelona are not limited to here.

The Catalans will also be without Sergio Busquets as he also picked a yellow card, suspending him for the next leg at the Nou Camp and hence slimming the midfield further down.

So, Seiten would hardly be able to pick his choices as he would be limited to the standard choices- Arthur Melo, Ivan Rakitic and Frenkie De Jong. Apart from the midfield concerns, Gerard Pique hurt his ankle during the game and could be unavailable for long.

Thus, the second leg brings a lot of challenges for Barcelona, with the sudden trimming of their first team. On the other hand, even Napoli could be without Dries Mertens at the Nou Camp.
