Australia vs India 1st Test Pitch Report

Australia vs India 1st Test Pitch Report: Sportsrush presents before the pitch report for the first Test between Australia and India.

Going by the first look of the pitch for the first Test between Australia and India at Adelaide, it is all but clear that the match will be played on a green wicket. Pitch curator Damien Hough has promised to leave an extra tinge of grass on the pitch for the first Test to be played from December 6.

It is believed that the same will be done as Hough had left extra grass on the pitch to aid the pink ball. With the match being played with a red ball, a change doesn’t seem to be happening.

With India looking forward to register their maiden Test series win down under, seaming wickets is highly likely to aid their in-form fast bowlers, who have put on display impressive bowling spells in Test matches outside the sub-continent this year.

“We won’t do anything differently. The preparation will be the same. The only difference is we get the covers off earlier and we start earlier,” Hough told The Weekend Australian.

“We do the same preparation for red-ball cricket and pink-ball cricket at Shield level. The best way to get an even contest is to leave some grass on there and get that balance between bat and ball. Right now, we really feel that this is where it’s at for the pitch,” he added.

Having said that, an extra tinge of grass also has it in it to possess difficulties for the Indian batsmen for the opposition have a stellar pace attack in Mitchell Starc, Josh Hazlewood and Pat Cummins. If the Indian batsmen become successful in tackling the extra bounce and the seam movement caused due to the pitch, it will be of a great assistance for their bowlers.
