The player reportedly met Barcelona’s technical director Eric Abidal in the United States to discuss potential move.

Paul Pogba has been linked with a move to Barcelona. The Catalan club is interested in Pogba’s services. They believe that the France international has what it takes to fill Iniesta’s void.

The midfielder is still on vacation after his performances with France in the World Cup in Russia. The 25 year old rejected to Jose Mourinho’s plea of calling him early from his holidays. Meanwhile, Romelu Lukaku, Phil Jones and Marcus Rashford did return early upon their manager’s requests.

Reports are claiming that Paul Pogba had met with Barcelona’s sporting director Eric Abidal in Los Angeles last week. Barcelona are currently in the United States and will play their final friendly against AC Milan in Santa Clara on Saturday evening.

In Ernesto Valverde’s press conference pre-match, the former Athletic Bilbao manager only fueled speculation about Paul Pogba’s potential arrival. The Spanish coach said: ‘Pogba is a great player, who is on another team and we are always very respectful of the players on other teams. We respect the player and the teams they are on.’

He continued: ‘Is the transfer market closed for signing more players? We’ll see how the market is going, but I’m the coach and my idea is to take advantage of the players we have.’

Barcelona have already strengthened their midfield by recruiting the likes of Malcom and Arthur Melo. The Catalans have also signed Arturo Vidal from Bayern Munich on Friday evening. Paul Pogba’s arrival might be imminent considering how the Catalans have racked up signings in the past few windows.

Paul Pogba is also thought to have had his feuds with Jose Mourinho and as a result, he is looking to move out of Manchester United. He is flattered by Barcelona’s interest in him. Juventus are also credited with interest in him. While Premier League’s transfer window shuts one day before the season kicks off, players can still leave for foreign clubs.
