While Barcelona are locked in negotiations with Liverpool over the transfer of Philippe Coutinho, there are some that believe the Brazilian should not even be their priority at the moment.

After sparkling in the Bundesliga last season, Ousmane Dembele became one of the hottest properties in world football. The 20-year old French star has quickly gone from teenage prodigy to a crucial first team member for Borussia Dortmund.

After just one year with the German giants, Dembele broke his way into the French national squad. The two footed youngster seems destined for great things, as he has now entered Didier Deschamps’ plans for next year’s World Cup.

And it looks like Barcelona have agreed a fee of around 120 million euros.

While 120 million is a staggering amount of money, we must understand that this is the post Neymar period in the transfer window, in which the transfer fees are inflated beyond logic.

While Dembele had many clubs interested in him, the club that he dreams of is FC Barcelona. Barcelona made their interest in him quite public as they submitted an initial 40 million euros for the French star. But Dortmund refused it out of hand as they are hoping for something close to 60 million.

Barcelona then upped their offer to 70 million, but this time it was shockingly snubbed by Dembele himself. Apparently, the young French star does not intend to become a squad player at Barcelona, as he will not find it possible to dislodge any of the MSN trio at the Nou Camp.

But then Neymar left for PSG, which seemed to turn Dembele’s head.

And it looks like he has got his dream move at last!
