The Neymar to PSG saga has gone far too long for it to be just a smoke screen. There is no doubt that there has been some flirtation from Neymar’s camp towards PSG, which is something that had irked the Barcelona faithful.

Although Neymar is a critical part of this team, Barcelona feel that he is not yet ready to take over from Lionel Messi as the talisman of the side. With Messi having signed a new contract that will keep him at the club for the foreseeable future, some members of the Barcelona brass feel that they could handle the loss of Neymar.

But a new name has now joined the fray.

Chelsea’s Eden Hazard has often said how he would one day love to play for Real Madrid. While Madrid have shown interest in the past, Chelsea did not receive any concrete offer from the Spanish giants.

There was feeling that if Madrid had put in a huge bid for the Belgian this summer, Chelsea might have considered letting him go. But nothing of that sort has happened yet, which is why the Hazard to Real links have died down.

But now, Real’s Classico rivals have stepped up their interest in Chelsea’s talisman. Hazard has been instrumental in the last two Premier league triumphs for the London outfit, and he may feel that it is time to leave for new pastures.

Privately, Barcelona feel that Chelsea will be wiling to do business if the price it right. With the Neymar transfer expected to give Barcelona close to 200 million, money should not become an issue for the Catalans.
