Barcelona Transfer News: Getafe forward a probable candidate to join Barcelona as the Catalans are marred with injuries in front-line.
Barcelona is suddenly under crises as many of their key players are sidelined with injuries. The most affected area in their squad is the front-line, as Luis Suarez and Ousmane Dembele have picked injuries, which will keep them out for long.
Meanwhile, they have let Carles Perez leave for Roma on loan, making the squad even slimmer. Thus, most of the times, Lionel Messi, Antoine Griezmann and Ansu Fati are obligated to complete all the matches, adding further fatigue.
Thus, to add more depth into the squad Barcelona is allowed to bring recruits even though the transfer window is over, but the limitation is that the player should already be playing in the Spanish leagues.
So, according to a report published by the Sport, Barcelona is attempting to hire Getafe’s forward Angel Rodriguez, whose buyout clause is €10 million to fortify their squad in the absence of key players.
Rodriguez has been a sensation for Getafe this season, as in 27 appearances this season he has amassed 13 goals and 1 assist. The primary position for the Spanish forward is as a striker, hence, he will play in place of Suarez if the agreement is completed.
Getafe’s sporting director has emphasized on the importance of Rodriguez in Getafe, but at the same time he has said that there is no contact by Barcelona presently.
“Angel leaving would be an important loss because we wouldn’t be able to sign a replacement, but we are prepared to assume that situation. We haven’t been contacted by Barcelona for Angel” said Angel Martin Gonzalez.
🎙 Ángel M.: "Para nosotros la de Ángel sería una baja importante, pero estamos preparados para asumir esa situación. Nosotros no tenemos noticia de dicho interés del F.C. Barcelona"

Barcelona earlier tried to sign Cedric Bakambu from Beijing Guoan but they cancelled the deal when the player was mid-air travelling to Barcelona. Now, it remains to be seen whether this deal will be completed or not.
