TheSportsRush brings Barcelona vs Real Madrid highlights, as the Catalan side thumps Real Madrid to regain 1st position in La Liga.
It was a long night to endure for Real Madrid supporters as Barcelona thumped Lopetegui’s side 5-1 to regain top position in the Spanish top flight.
Philippe Coutinho opened the goalscoring for Barcelona in the 11th minute with a delicious cross from Jordi Alba. Luis Suarez soon doubled the lead in the 30th minute.
Real Madrid’s leftback Marcelo pulled one back for Lopetegui’s side after a good start to the second half, but Suarez’s goal in the 75th minute ended hopes for the Los Blancos.
Suarez completed his hattrick as Sergio Ramos’ poor first-touch gave the ball away for Suarez with ample space in the front. Arturo Vidal’s header in the 87th minute completed a humiliation for Real Madrid.

Strange kind of game. Barça clearly vastly superior for long periods and rampant at times, but there was a 20-25 minute period at 2-1 when they were basically hanging on. Suarez/Benzema the difference, perhaps.

Before you start bashing Lopetegui and missing Zidane I will remind you that Barca beat Zidane’s Madrid at Bernabeu 4-0 also without Messi.

You can’t actually lose like this. It’s adios Lopetegui

Lopetegui’s head will roll but the real crime was the lack of business done in the summer. Florentino Perez clipped Julen’s wings before he even got started. #ElClásico

I feel for Lopetegui but it’s actually insane that, in the end, he threw away a World Cup with Spain for this

Julen Lopetegui took the Real Madrid two days before the World Cup. Since then:
Sacked by Spain
Joint-worst La Liga start in 19 years
Sets record for longest goal drought in Real Madrid’s history
