Bayern Munich and Spain midfielder Thiago Alcantara could be all set to return to the Blaugrana this year, as per the reports.

Thiago left the Catalan capital in the summer of 2013 to German club Bayern Munich, after the Germans confirmed Pep Guardiola as their head coach.

Since then for the German giants, the primarily right-footed Thiago has scored 11 times, opposed to the seven times that he scored at Camp Nou.

Spanish midfielder’s father Mazinho is said to have told the Catalan club that the Spaniard is interested in a return to his boyhood club after spending nearly five years away from it.

Also, it is said that it would be helpful for his brother Rafinha’s proposed move to fellow Spanish club Celta Vigo.

Thiago’s absence from the training camp raises a question:

Also, Thiago has given a miss to Bayern Munich’s camp at Doha with the midfielder currently spending his time at Barcelona. Reports in Germany suggest that the Spaniard has a tough life under the new coach Jupp Heynckes after Carlo Ancelotti was booted out from the club.

Before that, the midfielder aced and excelled under the tutelage of both Guardiola and Ancelotti, where he regularly featured at the middle of the park.

Apparently, according to reports, both the clubs share a cordial relationship, with Robert Fernandez visiting the former midfielder in Spain’s match against France.

The price that Barcelona have to pay?

However, all set and done, the price set for the Spaniard is off the roof with the midfielder having signed a contract till 2021 back in April. Barcelona are also eyeing the Brazilian midfielder Philippe Coutinho, who remains as the No.1 target for the Catalan club.

Thiago, on the other hand, is a much cheaper and potent option with the midfielder already accustomed to Barcelona’s style of play during his days at Camp Nou.

It would be intriguing to see what the Catalan giants do, in another frustrating transfer window for them negotiating with the likes of Liverpool and Paris St Germain.
