BCCI have announced team India’s schedule ahead of the 2019 World Cup, as they look to amp up the preparations ahead of the mega event.

India will head into the tournament as one of the favourites, as the 2011 champions boast a side filled with serial winners. This year is a crucial one for the Indian team, as they will travel to England and then Australia to end 2018.

The Men in Blue will only play two matches test matches at home this year, as they will host the Windies in October.

After that, India will travel to Australia to play four tests, three ODIs and three T20s before they travel to New Zealand to play a five-match ODI series and T20s.

And that’s not all, as India will return from their Kiwi tour to host the Aussies in an ODI series and then travel to Zimbabwe to play three T20s before returning for the IPL.

“There is a lot of risk of losing money in a five-day game starting at 3 am India time (in New Zealand). Anyway, it will be a World Cup year. By the time India travel to New Zealand, India will be playing just white-ball cricket after the Tests in Australia get over. India will host Australia after they come back from New Zealand and will travel to Zimbabwe for three T20Is before the 2019 IPL,” a BCCI official was quoted as saying by Times of India.

After the a grueling IPL season, team India will head off to England to play the World Cup, as Virat Kohli looks to lift his first major trophy as captain of India.
