Becky Lynch successfully defends her Raw Women’s Championship against Lacey Evans

Becky Lynch successfully defends her Raw Women’s Championship against Lacey Evans in the opening match of WWE Stomping Grounds.

WWE Raw women’s champion Becky Lynch opened WWE’s newest pay per view, Stomping grounds, with a title defence against Lacey Evans. The man dominated the match early on but Lacey Evans soon went on the offensive and controlled the fight.

Becky fought back and caught The Lady in a dis-arm-her but Lacey flipped her over and attempted a pin. The champion kicked out and continued to lock her challengers’ arm before Lacey trashed around until her legs touched the ropes.

After this, it was all Becky with clotheslines and kicks. And at one point, she even shoved Lacey’s gloves into her own mouth.

The Southern Sassy belle though, tried one last time to fight back and even attempted another pin but Becky broke the pin once again.

Lacey out of desperation, climbed the ropes to launch an aerial attack. But Becky pulled her leg and dropped her to the ground. She then locked in the Dis-arm-her once again. Lacey Evans quickly tapped out, handing Becky the victory.

The story so far

The two have been feuding since Money in the bank where Becky defended both the Raw and SmackDown women’s championships in one night. She first faced Lacey Evans and made her tap out. However, Lacey wasn’t done with Irish Lass Kicker as she interfered in her second title defence against Charlotte Flair.

Becky lost the match following her interference and the two have took that feud to Stomping Grounds. With Becky beating Lacey clean in the middle of the ring once again, perhaps this is the end of the feud.

One interesting thing about the match was how many times the commentators referred to Seth Rollins as Becky’s boyfriend. Like they were trying to hammer the fact in your brain.
