Players with double figures in goals and assists in the top five leagues of Europe this season.
Only some gifted players will be able to show their prowess in front of the goal and pick out their teammates by splitting the opponents’ defence. Teams will be largely dependent on them because players showcase their talent by carrying the ball from the midfield to make things happen in the final third of the pitch.
Few players will be able to score goals and rile up their numbers in the assists department. Let us look at the four players who have scored and assisted in double digits in the European top five leagues this season.
#4 Pablo Sarabia (22 goal contributions):
Pablo Sarabia is an integral part of Sevilla’s set up under their manager Pablo Machin. The Argentine International has scored 11 goals and found his teammates on 11 occasions, thereby finding his name in the list. The 26-year-old is deployed through right wing and has been stacking up numbers with the Spanish outfit.
He was part of the side which humiliated Real Madrid 3-0 at their own patch and scored a goal against Barcelona in their 4-2 defeat at Camp Nou. He is attracting interest from various sides in Europe including Chelsea.
#3 Jadon Sancho (23 goal contributions):
The rise of Jadon Sancho is not at all surprising after earning such adulation at Manchester City academy. The English International moved to Borussia Dortmund in 2017 and has been on a meteoric rise ever since then. The 19-year-old occupies that right wing and plays along the likes of Marco Reus, Mario Gotze, and Paco Alcacer in the front line.
The Borussia Dortmund winger has scored 10 goals and assisted 13 times this season. Following his tremendous season with the German outfit, he is wanted by the Citizens rivals Manchester United, who have made him the top priority in the summer window.
#2 Eden Hazard (28 goal contributions):
Eden Hazard is having one of the best individual seasons with Chelsea, but he has been under the radar, thanks to plenty of players with similar goal contributions in the Premier League this season. The Belgian International has scored 16 and set up another 12 for his teammates
The 28-year-old looks certain to leave Chelsea after a seven-year stint with the club. He has been linked with a move away to Real Madrid in the summer transfer window, and the return of Zinedine Zidane will make it even possible.
#1 Lionel Messi (55 goal contributions):
Lionel Messi has nearly double numbers as Eden Hazard in the goal contributions. The Argentine International, who has been carrying Barcelona for the last decade has done the same this campaign by scoring 33 and assisting another 12 to his teammates. When Ernesto Valverde decides to rest his skipper, the Blaugrana struggle in creativity and goalscoring department.
There is no doubt that he is one among the best players to have played the game and the 32-year-old is doing no damage to his reputation by shattering records every single time he takes up the field. Despite the inevitable La Liga success, the club wants to lift the Champions League this season.
