A common trait in all rags to riches stories around the world irrespective of the field often consist of a phase of life for a modern-day successful person where he/she used to pursue a completely different career path.
In most cases, the same is done with an intention of accumulating funds to achieve a preferred goal in the longer run. In other cases, an individual simply follows the flow without knowing what’s in store for the near and much better future.
Professional bodybuilder Ronnie Coleman, arguably the biggest name in his field, can be easily categorized into the second kind of people who pursued other jobs without realizing a future in something which would make them famous around the globe.
Was Ronnie Coleman a cop?
Coleman, who studied B.Sc in accounting, eventually moved to Texas in search of a job. Inexperienced like any other fresher in any other part of the world, Coleman faced multiple rejections for the same reason.
Having said that, one fine day, Coleman came across a newspaper advertisement with respect to a vacancy in the police department. Coleman opted to apply for the job instantly after realizing how no past experience was needed to join the force.
Coleman, who used to play football during his days at Grambling State University, Grambling, Loiusiana, was athletic by physique which probably would have helped his case in securing a job as a cop.

Having previously worked at Domino’s Pizza whilst searching for a better job, Coleman ended up working as a police office for as many as 14 years between 1989-2003. While Coleman served as an officer till 2000, he was a reserve officer for the next three years.
It was at the same time when Coleman was also undergoing his best years as a bodybuilder winning the coveted Mr. Olympia title on eight occasions between 1998-2005. Not able to manage both the jobs at the same time due to contrasting demands and understandably so, Coleman had eventually quit his job in the police.
