Josh Taylor and Teofimo Lopez are set to enter the squared circle on Saturday, June 10th at The Theatre in Madison Square Garden, New York. The bout happens to be one of the most highly anticipated fights of the year and will have the WBO junior welterweight title on the line as well. This will be Taylor’s first fight in nearly 15 months. He was last seen in action against Jack Catterall and walked away with a contentious win on that night. On the flip side, Lopez last fought back in December last year against Sandor Martin, where he secured a split decision victory.

With the highly anticipated junior welterweight championship bout just under a day away, many fans have been wondering how much will the two fighters make on Saturday. That said, let’s take a look at the estimated fight purses for both fighters below.

What is the estimated fight purse of Josh Taylor vs. Teofimo Lopez?

While there is certainly a lot on the line for both fighters, both Josh Taylor and Teofimo Lopez are set to walk away with a fortune regardless of the outcome of their fight. As per SportsLens, Taylor has a base salary of $1.025 million for this fight.

However, he is expected to take home around $2.5 million, as he will receive the majority percentage of the pay-per-view sales. On the flip side, Teofimo Lopez has a higher base pay and could potentially take home more than Josh Taylor if he wins the fight.

His base pay is expected to be around $1.5 million and the former lightweight champion could walk away with somewhere around $3 million if he wins the fight.

Teofimo Lopez’s father reveals game plan for Taylor

Teofimo Lopez was once considered one of the most feared knockout artists. Having secured 19 of his pro-boxing victories by stoppage, it looks like he’s gonna have a different approach against Josh Taylor.

During a recent interview with Fight Hub TV, the father of Teofimo Lopez spoke about how people are expecting the former lightweight champion to come out all guns blazing in an attempt to secure a knockout.

However, that won’t be the case as they are looking to outbox Josh Taylor. It’s safe to say that Teofimo Lopez and his team are taking the technical approach for this fight and it will be interesting to see if it actually pays off.

What are your thoughts on Lopez’s game plan? What do you guys think about their purse for the fight?
