Ever since Robin Van Persie made the switch to Man United, Arsenal have been on the lookout for a world class striker. While Giroud has been decent enough, he isn’t really the one who could carry Arsenal to European glory or even to the top of the Premier League.

Arsene Wenger signed Welbeck from Man United hoping that he could solve his striker woes, but he has been injured all along. Mbappe’s rise to fame in the last season and Arsene’s french connection led to the speculation that Mbappe could sign for Arsenal, but it is the other French striker that have Arsenal have finally landed.

Arsenal have reportedly finalised a deal with Lyon’s Lacazatte for €53 Million, thereby making him Arsenal’s most expensive signing(Ozil was signed for €42 million from Real Madrid in 2013).

Lacazatte was in scintillating form for Lyon last season, scoring 37 goals in 45 games. His career record for Lyon is also brilliant, with 129 goals in 275 games.

Lacazatte’s will certianly rule out the possibility of Mbappe coming in and would also mean that Sanchez could be on his way out.

Sanchez has been linked with a move to Allianz Arena or to the Etihad stadium, with a move to City looking most favourable. But Wenger might not want to sell him to a direct rival.

Lacazatte could solve Arsenal’s striker woes, having scored bucketload of goals in the previous two seasons for Lyon. His style of play is also suited for England and he could wondefully slot into the ‘Arsenal way’.
