With less than two years to go until the big tournament in England, team India were anxious to see if this young team, which they have been building carefully, could actually perform against the current world champions.
So far, the results have been spectacular. The first two ODIs have been almost perfect for India, starting with MS Dhoni reaffirming his status as a brilliant ODI batsman.

Hardik Pandya’s maturity has been a long time coming while Ajinkya Rahane’s knock in Kolkata would have done him a world of good. But the biggest plus point has been contribution from the spin duo of Chahal and Yadav.
Their pairing has been so good that many people have started wondering if Ashwin needs to put away his blue jersey for good. Even Ravindra Jadeja must be wondering how he could dislodge this brilliant partnership that India have stumbled upon.
And things are going to get even better, as the groundsmen for the third ODI in Indore have told that the pitch will be spinner friendly track.
This is what one of the groundsmen have said before the match,
“We have used black cotton soil, brought from different parts of Madhya Pradesh. In this weather, it won’t crumble and it won’t be very dry. It has capacity to hold water but it will be good for the wrist spinners.”
“We had used this pitch for a two-day match between the players of our Ranji players. Ninety overs were bowled on both days on September 7 & 8 and good runs were scored. It should be a high scoring game.”
With the Aussies on the ropes, India know that they can finish this series off in the third ODI itself. And with everyone looking in good shape ahead of the match, you could bet your house on India sealing the series in Indore.
