Here is how Twitter reacted over Manchester City’s victory over Burnley.
Manchester City reinstated their top spot after their victory over Burnley at Turf Moore with a 1-0 victory. The Citizens were frustrated by the hosts in the first half, but they came on with firing cylinders in the second half to gain the lead. Sergio Aguero’s shot was blocked by Mathew Lowton, but the ball crossed the line by millimeters to secure a victory.
Burnley’s gameplan nearly paid off as they tried to defend deep and fizzle out Manchester City. They were impressive throughout the first half and did not hand over one chance to the visitors and made them run for everything. Pep Guardiola’s half time talk did wonders for them as they kept on piling pressure on Burnley’s defence which got broken when Sergio Aguero used his strength to turn James Tarkowski and take a shot.
The Argentine International took the shot which was blocked by Mathew Lowton in the goal line, but the ball was swiveling around and went inside the back of the net. Lowton made an error of judgement by using his leg when he had a chance to head the ball which would have prevented the ball from crossing the line.
For the rest of the game, Citizens sat back and maintained possession to see out the game. It was not an impressive performance, but Pep Guardiola will sigh a massive relief to procure yet another three points.

Manchester City didn’t need to work particularly hard for this win. Their most difficult task was trying to work out how to get the ball to cross the line.
Burnley defended admirably, Ben Mee in particular was excellent. But they were very sloppy and wasteful in possession
