Carles Puyol bids farewell to Lionel Messi as player demands departure

Carles Puyol bids farewell to Lionel Messi on social media as the latter has demanded his departure from the club, Luis Suarez also responds.

It’s a day of mutiny at Barcelona, with Lionel Messi- the doyen of the club is demanding his departure from his home- Nou Camp. It came after Messi allegedly disagreed with Ronald Koeman’s plans, which were discussed during a meeting between the two.

The state is distraught as even former club captain Carles Puyol has bid a farewell for Messi with a tweet, low-key confirming the Argentine International’s departure from Barcelona.

“Respect and admiration, Leo. All my support, friend.” tweeted Puyol. If this was not enough, then even Luis Suarez dropped a cryptic message, probably adding onto the mutiny in the dressing room.

Lately, Barcelona and its board have been amidst a tussle which had its last straw after the humiliation faced against Bayern Munich and Gerard Pique openly stated that the club requires changes from inside.

He even further said he will be the first one to step down if necessary and bring in the younger lot. Next day, Barcelona’s board stated tat whole squad is up for sale including Pique.

The mere exceptions were Messi himself, along with Frenkie De Jong, Clement Lenglet and Marc Andre Ter Stegen. Quique Setien was the first to face the board aggression as he was immediately sacked.

Is it a plan to make the board resign?

No one can deny Messi’s dedication towards Barcelona, it could only take a toxic environment at the club to take such a bold step. However, his every action will result in something.

And it has already started a rebellion at the club, as Victor Font, a candidate for next elections has stated that the socios are already undergoing the vote of no confidence against Bartomeu if he doesn’t resign. Socios retweeted this.

Overall, it could be summed that it’s either Messi or the board, and it is obvious where the preference of fans lie. Actually, this is the best time to prevent Messi from making a move away from the club.
