Chelsea News: Frank Lampard releases statement on whether Mason Mount and N’Golo Kante will play vs Liverpool

Chelsea News: Frank Lampard gives injury update on Mason Mount and N’Golo Kante ahead of their high-profile clash against Liverpool in the Premier League.

Chelsea will face Liverpool for the second time in just a little over a month. The sides last faced each other on August 15th at Istanbul for the UEFA Super Cup where Liverpool triumphed on penalties. Chelsea will look to extract revenge on Sunday. However, the blues are ravaged with injury concerns.

Chelsea have only won 2 of their 5 games in the Premier League and have lost 3 games in all competitions out of 7 with a couple of draws. Their defence has been a problem for them as was evident in the game against Manchester United and Sheffield United.

They have however made up for it with brilliant creativity in the midfield, which has allowed Tammy Abraham to score as much as he has. However, injuries to Mason Mount and N’Golo Kante have created a problem in that department as well.

Frank Lampard has now come out with an injury update regarding the duo ahead of their all-important clash against table toppers Liverpool this weekend.

Chelsea Injury Update

According to Daily Mail, Lampard has said of Mount and Kante:

‘He’s got a chance.’

‘We all saw the image of the tackle which made it look really bad but we are trying to get him moving today. We’ll make a call before the game.’

‘It’s a boost with N’Golo, we all know the importance of him to the team.’

‘The only question is how fit he is. We have to manage him but it’s great to have him back in and around us.’

N’Golo Kante was seen training with the team on Thursday. However, Mason Mount skipped the session, leading many to believe that he would not make it against the Reds.

Mount and Kante may still not make it in time for the match. However, fans will be relieved to know that the injuries aren’t as bad as they once thought.
