Roma full-back Emerson has come under the radar of Premier League giants Chelsea, confirms his agent Fernando Garcia.
The English outfit has been in search of a full back in recent months, with initial targets being Alex Sandro. Conte has only one left back at his disposal (Marcos Alonso) at the moment and wants to provide some competition.
Juventus’ asking price for the Brazilian is something Chelsea are unwilling to pay. They have now reportedly turned to other targets to fill the position.
And the 23-year-old’s agent, Fernando Garcia, believes a move to Chelsea is a “concrete possibility”.
“There’s nothing certain yet,” he told Calciomercato. “We are in a phase of discussion and evaluation.”

“Chelsea are a concrete possibility, absolutely. Now the two clubs are talking, so we will see if they reach a positive conclusion. I have no planned trips to Italy, at least for the moment, as we are waiting for developments.”
“Obviously, Emerson would love to play in the Premier League and it would be a dream to work with Conte, as he is among the best coaches in the world.”
Emerson has only played twice for Roma since returning from a serious knee injury at the start of December. The left-back made make 25 appearances in Serie A last term in all competitions. He was one of Roma’s standout performers last season to catch the eye.
The 23-year-old moved from Brazil to Italy in 2014, initially on loan at Palermo before joining Roma the following season.
He is currently contracted until 2021, with a release clause of around € 15 million.
