Thomas Tuchel’s arrival at Chelsea hasn’t only done a world of good to the club. Akin to the side, a string of players have also managed to rediscover their touch and with it make a foray back into the side’s gameplan.

One of them is centreback Andres Christensen, a player who was completely shut out by Frank Lampard. However, a new found role in Thomas Tuchel’s back three of central defenders has seen Christensen once again show why he was once talked about in such high stature.

Christensen And Chelsea Set To Sit Down

Being asked to deploy himself in the side’s backline after Thiago Silva’s injury, the 24 year old CB has been compact and sound for Chelsea. His most telling display came against Liverpool, a gripping performance which saw him dispel anything Liverpool threw his way.

And his sturdy and gallant display hasn’t gone unnoticed either with Chelsea said to be seriously considering offering the player a new deal. Christensen whose contract at the club has only 18 months left is set to be rewarded with a new contract by the club as the Premier League side aspires to nail down the defender’s future.

Chelsea are also said to be working quickly to tie the player down owing to the manifold interest Christensen is attracting from some of Europe’s biggest names.

Along with Christensen, Antonio Rudiger is also said to be the subject of a new contract. The two defenders have been exceptional for Chelsea since Tuchel’s onset with the club going onto concede just twice in 11 managers under the 47 year old German manager.

Chelsea have managed to move from 9th to 4th in the Premier League since Tuchel’s arrival. The club most recently downed Liverpool 1-0 with the club set to take on Everton next on Monday.

Everton meanwhile find themselves the lone point behind Chelsea, one which sees the sit in 5th place at the moment with the club winning all of its last three affairs.
