CSK Predicted Playing XI vs DC

CSK Predicted Playing XI vs DC: Sportsrush presents before you CSK’s Playing XI for their second IPL 2019 match vs DC.

Delhi Capitals and Chennai Super Kings both are off to a winning start in the IPL with wins over Mumbai Indians and Mumbai Indians respectively. The sides now meet at Delhi’s home, the Feroz Shah Kotla stadium where the conditions will be favouring the Delhi Capitals.

Chennai Super Kings captured their first win over Royal Challengers Bangalore on a spin-friendly surface in Chepauk in the season opener, opting for three spinners in the process. With conditions a bit different in Delhi and Lungi Ngidi ruled out for the season, CSK will have to make the tough decision to opt for a pacer in place of a spinner.

With that being said, TheSportsRush predicts Chennai Super Kings’ line-up for their clash against the Delhi Capitals:

Shane Watson:

The Australian opener had a miserable start to the IPL tournament after he was dismissed following a 10-ball duck. However, Watson will be looking to make amends against an attack that he would fancy playing against.

Ambati Rayudu:

Ambati Rayudu will be an important part of the side as he top-scored in the previous game with 26 runs under-pressure. He will be looking to continue his consistent run from last season, and help CSK counter the home side.

Suresh Raina:

The man needs no introduction. Raina completed 5000 IPL runs in the previous game and has been one of the most consistent players for the Yellow Army. Considering that, he is an automatic choice for Dhoni.

Kedhar Jadhav:

Jadhav carried his bat in the low-scoring encounter against RCB with 13 runs. He will be hoping that Delhi’s conditions favour his batting style and he ends up among the runs.

MS Dhoni (c & wk):

MS Dhoni did not come out to bat in the opening game of the tournament. However, his impressive captaincy came to the fore as he outclassed the opposition. With that being said, Dhoni’s captaincy will be crucially important for the  Kings.

Dwayne Bravo:

The all-rounder from West Indies is coming on the back of impressive performances in league cricket in the past few months. Bravo’s incredible variations and batting firepower makes him an easy selection in the team.

Ravindra Jadeja:

Jadeja was promoted to finish the innings by Dhoni in the previous game. Despite it being a low-pressure game, this might show Dhoni's intentions regarding the role of Jadeja. With that said, Jadeja’s all-round skills might be  tested against Delhi.

Harbhajan Singh:

The right-arm off spinner dismantled the top-order of the RCB with his brilliant bowling, as he picked up three wickets. Moreover, with Delhi having a lot of left-handers, Harbhajan will have a key role to play.

Imran Tahir:

Conditions at the Feroz Shah Kotla will be less spin friendly. However, the brilliance of Imran Tahir in the opening game will be tough for CSK to overlook. He also has a fantastic record against the left-handers, which means he might get the nod ahead of David Willey.

Deepak Chahar:

The right-arm medium pacer has been MS Dhoni's go-to bowler in the power play and he usually finishes his spell in the first ten overs. His brilliant accuracy and economy will aid the CSK’s bowling attack.

Shardul Thakur:

Shardul Thakur was included in the playing XI against RCB but did not have the opportunity to bowl due to the pitch favouring spin. With the Delhi conditions going to be less spin-friendly than Chepauk, Thakur might have a major say in the proceedings.
