Chris Morris IPL 2021: Twitter reactions on Morris hitting four sixes in last two overs to seal chase vs Delhi Capitals

Morris hitting four sixes: The South African all-rounder played a blinder of an innings to power his team to their first IPL 2021 victory.

During the seventh match of the ongoing 14th season of the Indian Premier League between Rajasthan Royals and Delhi Capitals in Mumbai, Rajasthan Royals beat Delhi Capitals in a nail-biting finish.

Chasing a below par 148-run target, Royals lost their top three including captain Sanju Samson (4) for single-digit scores in the powerplay. Playing only his second match for RR, South Africa batsman David Miller scored his 10th IPL half-century to at least keep his team in the run.

Having scored 62 (43) with the help of seven fours and two sixes, Miller’s counter-attacking knock consisted of sheer entertainment on the back of some well-executed shots played with a lot of courage and calculated risk.

It was Miller who started hitting the big shots to bring the required run rate down from 10+. While Miller’s dismissal in the 16th over brought Capitals back into the match, RR all-rounder Chris Morris stood tall on his potential to score a match-winning 36* (18) comprising of four sixes.

The most costliest player in IPL 2021 auction, Morris played a crucial role in Royals scoring 34 in the last three overs. Needing 27 runs in the last two overs, the right-hand batsman scored two sixes each in the last two overs to justify his price.

Earlier, Capitals had scored 147/8 in 20 overs on the back of captain Rishabh Pant top-scoring with his 51 (32). After Samson won the toss and invited DC in to bat, pacer Jaydev Unadkat was the pick of their bowlers with bowling figures of 4-0-15-3.
